Regularly conducted to the young people. The majority of the population in this district constitutes young people. We have many programmes for the adolescents and youth between the age 10 Years to 24 Years.
The training Centre at Kanyakumari has a variety of activities. It imparts training to women in designing utility articles from banana and cactus fibres. The finished products range from household to fancy articles. Since Kanyakumari is a renowned tourist spot for marketing seashell crafts, training in sea shell based utility articles and fancy articles is given to women and young girls as economic self-reliance programmes. The YMCA imparts leadership training, community development and rural training programmes at the Programme Centre. These training Centre in our spacious campus is utilised by other NGOs, social institutions, educational institutions for conducting trainings, camps, conferences, seminars, symposia, workshops and allied activities. These target population will be identified by our Self Help Group promoted by YMCA. It includes beneficiaries from both the tribal and rural walks of life. YMCA is the facilitator to all training programmes. We train people to specialize Banana Fibre Craft and other art training. Our faculty and trainees have received National awards.
